Intro: Baby you're all that I want. When you're lying here in my arms I'm finding it hard to believe We're in heaven. Instrumental - 15 seconds We're in heaven! Instrumental - 20 seconds Verse: Oh, thinking about all our younger years. There was only you and me, We were young and wild and free.
Now nothing can take you away from me. We've been down that road before, But that's over now.
You keep me coming back for more. Chorus: Baby you're all that I want. When you're lying here in my arms, I'm finding it hard to believe. We're in heaven. And love is all that I need And I found it there in your heart.
It isn't too hard to see. We're in heaven. (We're in heaven) Instrumental - 20 seconds Verse 2: Now, nothing could change what you mean to me. (Ooh) There's a lot that I could say, But just hold me now. Cause our love will light the way. Chorus: Baby you're all that I want. When you're lying here in my arms.
I'm finding it hard to believe, We're in heaven. (Ooh) And love is all that I need, And I found it there in your heart. It isn't too hard to see, We're in heaven.

Let’s turn back the clock to the year 2001 with DJ Sammy and Yanou’s smash hit, “Heaven”! I have to admit that the early 2000s was a pretty amazing era.
I mean who didn’t love playing Snake on their Nokia phone, sporting a Baby Phat puffy jacket, or slathering themselves in Sweet Pea scent from Bath and Body works? In the area of electronic music, it was also an amazing time for, and a song that sticks out from that time is one I still listen to, & Yanou‘s “Heaven”! Believe it or not, this iconic song did not originate from the electronic music scene. The original “Heaven” was written by Bryan Adams and first released in 1984. A hit in its own right, “Heaven” took on a whole new form when DJ Sammy teamed up Yanou for an electronic re-imagining and added the beautiful vocals from Do who gave the lyrics a reinvigorating feel. At the risk of feeling very old, I fully admit that this was my jam back in middle school.
At the time this song was absolutely everywhere and gained mainstream appeal as it could be heard on multiple radio stations. I took it one step further and bought the CD single that came with the multiple remixes, my favorite being Yanou’s Candlelight mix. There was something about the lyrics, vocals, and production that made me feel absolutely uplifted and made me want to dance but more often than not, I found it relaxing and contemplative. It’s been years since the track first was released yet it still lives on to this day with many artists remixing or incorporating it into their sets. Dash Berlin created his own mix of the release and later DJ Isaac even went on to remix the track to give it a hardstyle version. Even more recently featured a small sample of Do’s version of the lyrics in his track, ““.
Those are just a few that have stuck out to me, but multiple remixes of this song can be found in almost every genre of dance music! As a true lover of this track, I appreciate that it continues to live on and stay current. However, the original Eurodance version will go down as one of my favorite songs of all time!
